MEDIA ADVISORY - MORE THAN 2,000 NEW JERSEY STUDENTS GLIDE THROUGH EXCITING AVIATION EXHIBITS AT NEWARK LIBERTY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT’S
13TH ANNUAL CAREER DAY

Elementary school students from Essex, Union and Hudson counties will learn about aviation industry career opportunities at Newark Liberty International Airport’s 13th Annual Aviation Career Day on Wednesday, May 18, and Thursday, May 19 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.# # #
Sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-graders will pilot their way through about 40 exhibits learning about careers ranging from law enforcement and air traffic control to airline and airport operations. They will see personal, commercial and military aircraft, and have the opportunity to meet teenage and commercial aviators, and bomb-sniffing dogs. Essay and airport trivia contests will be held as part of the festivities.
Prizes include free domestic air travel tickets donated by Delta and Continental airlines. The Four Points Sheraton, Washington Mutual, Sky Blue Aviation Academy, the Newark Bears baseball team and Six Flags Great Adventure also will donate prizes.
Reporters covering the event should look for signs leading to Building 79 on Brewster Road in the airport’s north area at 9 a.m.
