MEDIA ADVISORY - ANNUAL BLESSING OF THE PORT OF NEW YORK AND NEW JERSEY SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY, JUNE 24

The 10th annual Blessing of the Port of New York and New Jersey will be held Friday, June 24, at the New Jersey Marine Terminals and at the New York Container Terminal at Howland Hook, beginning at 10 a.m.

Various clergy members, including those from Stella Maris, the Seaman’s Church Institute and the German Lutheran Mission, all based at Port Newark, will bless the facilities and their employees. Ships and watercraft that call on the terminals or assist port operations also will be blessed.

Media covering the event should report to the Stella Maris Chapel, 170 Corbin Street, Port Newark, at 9:30 a.m. A tug will leave Berth 2 in Port Newark at 10 a.m.
