TRAFFIC ADVISORY - TWO NEW YORK-BOUND LANES OF GWB TO CLOSE THIS WEEKEND

Two upper-level New York-bound lanes of the George Washington Bridge will be closed for construction from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 17.

During construction hours, commercial vehicles must continue to use the bridge’s upper level. Pedestrians and bicyclists will be redirected to the bridge’s north sidewalk, which will be open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. The bridge’s south sidewalk will be open from 5 to 11:59 p.m. New York-bound motorists are strongly encouraged to use the Lincoln Tunnel, Tappan Zee Bridge, New Jersey Transit or other mass transportation options as alternate routes, as significant delays are possible. New Jersey-bound traffic will not be impacted by this work.
