New York Governor Eliot Spitzer will join officials from the Port Authority and Hudson Valley communities in a news conference at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 1, 2007, to commemorate the first day of the bistate agency’s control of Stewart International Airport. The Port Authority will develop Stewart into a strong regional airport serving the travel and business needs of the Hudson Valley, while also helping alleviate congestion and ease delays at the New York-New Jersey metropolitan-area airports.

The news conference will be held outside Stewart’s passenger terminal. Media wishing to cover the event should bring photo identification.
