The Port Authority will host representatives from the American Heart Association and its member hospitals on Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14, to provide free blood-pressure screenings and information for air travelers at the Port Authority’s airports.
Free screenings will be available to travelers at the following locations and times:
- Stewart International Airport, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., main passenger terminal near baggage claim area. Screenings will be conducted by staff from St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital of Newburgh, N.Y., an affiliate of The Mount Sinai Hospital.
- Newark Liberty International Airport, 2 to 5 p.m., Terminal B adjacent to Virgin Record store and food court. Screenings will be conducted by staff from Newark Beth Israel Medical Center of Newark, N.J., an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System.
In addition, American Heart Association staff will be available to provide information on heart disease and stroke at LaGuardia Airport from 7 to 10 a.m. in the Central Terminal Building adjacent to the west food court near the American Airlines counters, and at John F. Kennedy International Airport from 4 to 7 p.m. at Terminal 4 in the Arrivals Hall near the information counter. Free screenings will be available for customers at LaGuardia and Kennedy later this month.
