At the end of 2006, there were nearly 50,000 residents and 311,000 daytime workers in lower Manhattan. Within a three mile radius, there were 798,182 residents and 409,869 workers. Currently, more than 6 million tourists visit the site annually.

Once operational, over 500,000 commuters will use World Trade Center's transit hub; 340,000 of which will embark or disembark at the location each day.
