Temporary Wheelchair Service

Grove Street Station

Rules & Regulations

  • PATH offers free temporary bus shuttle service, exclusively for customers using wheelchairs, between Grove Street Station and Exchange Place or Newport stations.
  • Service is available weekdays, weekends and holidays.
  • Customers must call PATH at 800 234-PATH (7284) [option 6] twenty-four (24) hours in advance to schedule each individual pick-up.
  • Reservation line is open daily from 9:00 a.m. – 4 p.m. (including holidays).
  • Reservations can be made up to seven (7) days in advance of a trip.
  • Pick-up bus will wait up to five (5) minutes for a customer at the designated pick-up point.  Customers are advised to be ready at least twenty (20) minutes in advance at the designated pick-up point to ensure they are in place when the bus arrives.
  • Pick-up points at Grove Street, Exchange Place and Newport stations will have PATH designated signage with wheelchair logo.

  • No-show policy requires customers to call PATH at 800 234-PATH (7284) [option 6] four (4) hours in advance to cancel a scheduled trip. Violation of no-show policy is subject to penalty.

    First Violation:
    Written warning

    Second Violation:
    Ten-day (10-day) suspension of service

    Third Violation:
    Thirty-day (30-day) suspension of service
  • Customers must submit an ADA Paratransit Wheelchair Eligibility Certification Application for continued use of service. Customers will be allowed to use the service one time without registering for the first ninety (90) days. Customers may also request an application by calling 800 234-PATH (7284).
  • Customers must be at least five (5) years of age to apply for PATH Wheelchair Transportation Service.  Applications for customers under the age of eighteen (18) must be completed by a parent or court-appointed legal guardian.  An adult must accompany all passengers under the age of eighteen (18) on their trip.
